Addiction is a significant concern for many individuals, especially those with comorbid mental disorders. This track explores the tools and strategies physicians employ in treating substance abuse disorders with special attention to the management of opioid and marijuana use.
Across medical professions, practitioners are working together more closely for the betterment of their patients. Psychiatrists commonly collaborate with primary care providers, nurse practitioners, social workers, and others to diagnose and manage complex psychiatric conditions within the primary care setting. In this track, presenters share their experiences from integrated care settings and offer insights into how practicing psychiatrists, social workers, psychologists, and psychiatric nurses can navigate this new paradigm of care.
