The ICBA Conference is designed to lower the real and perceived barriers between suppliers and Stores to foster better engagement and more productive, long-term relationships. The conference highlights three primary areas of focus: Education, Networking, and Vendor Programs.

In addition, the conference highlights industry-leading professional development, exclusive institutional store networking and collaboration, and dynamic round-robin Buyer and Vendor meetings.

The conference is offering both an in-person Conference and a virtual Conference.

Why Attend – 2022

The conference has sessions that touch on the strategic and technical aspects of General Merchandising, Course Materials, Sales and Marketing, HR, Operations, and eCommerce. Speakers include a range of industry experts and store leaders.

The annual ICBA Innovators session showcases how Member Stores are innovating and navigating this evolving industry.

Also, the conference offers several opportunities for both formal and informal networking. Store2Store discussions and Buyer2Buyer Smartest Thing discussions provide a forum to explore important topics, trends, and challenges with stores of a similar size or with fellow Buyers or Marketers.

Additionally, ICBA is offering Scholarships to Buyers. Scholarships are available to Buyers in the Supplies, Technology Products, Apparel/Gift, and Course Materials Tracks.

Why Exhibit - 2022

Members and Vendors have the opportunity to meet and explore partnership opportunities at the ICBA PRIMEtime event and Business Encounter meetings.

ICBA’s unique PRIMEtime format features a ‘round-robin’ or ‘speed-dating’ rotation whereby all Buyers in key Tracks (product categories) meet with all Exhibitors in that same Track. These meetings are an opportunity to discuss new products, explore promotions and marketing opportunities, and negotiate and place orders.

During Business Encounter sessions, a select group of ICBA Vendor Partners will present their latest offerings, provide insight into common challenges, and highlight opportunities to work together to better serve stores and institutions.


The Independent College Bookstore Association (ICBA) is a not-for-profit trade association that has been dedicated to serving institutionally-affiliated college store members across the U.S. and Canada since 1927. Their flagship annual conference typically brings together store members and a wide variety of suppliers/vendors to offer a national network of support in terms of national trends, buying power, idea-sharing, and more.
