The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is a popular livestock show and rodeo in the world.

The Show promotes the breeding, raising and marketing of better livestock and farm products at public fairs and to promote and maintain research and educational functions with the livestock industry.

The event is 20 days long and includes the World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, championship rodeo action, livestock competitions, concerts, a carnival, barbecue, livestock auctions, and traditional trail rides.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo promotes agriculture by hosting an annual, family-friendly experience that educates and entertains the public, supports Texas youth, showcases Western heritage and provides year-round educational support within the community.

Since its beginning in 1932, the Rodeo has committed more than $550 million to Texas youth and education.
