ALFA Becomes Argentum:
The landscape of senior living has changed dramatically since our founding. As our industry and program evolved, the name Assisted Living Federation of America became increasingly less representative of our organization. Today, our members operate communities around the world and offer a diverse array of products and services beyond traditional assisted living. After an extensive search for a new name and visual identity to reflect our organization’s expanded direction, priorities, and focus, the Board of Directors, in a unanimous decision, selected the name Argentum. Argentum is derived from the Latin word for silver, which conveys strength and gravitas while giving a nod to the “silver generation” our members serve.
About Argentum:
Founded in 1990, Argentum is the leading national trade association serving companies that own, operate, and support professionally managed senior living communities in the United States. Through a network of state partners, Argentum represents over 7,000 communities that provide independent living, assisted living, and memory care services for seniors. Argentum is expanding senior living through its comprehensive national and state advocacy program; workforce development, training, and certification tools; and industry-leading publications, events, education, and research.
