About Us

The Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association (ADISA) is a national trade association of decision makers who influence over 30,000 professionals involved in alternative investments, primarily non-traded alternatives.

These typically include non-traded Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), Business Development Companies (BDCs), Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs) and private and public funds (LPs/LLCs), 1031 exchange programs (DSTs/TICs), energy and oil and gas interests, equipment leasing programs, and other alternative and direct investment offerings.

The association was founded in 2003 and has approximately 4,500 members who are key decision makers who represent more than 220,000 professionals throughout the nation, including sponsor members that have raised in excess of $200 billion in equity and serve more than 1 million investors.

We work to maintain the integrity and reputation of this industry by promoting the highest ethical standards, providing education and networking opportunities, and in representing our industry in the public and political arena.

ADISA connects members directly to key industry experts through exemplary events forums providing timely trends and education, helping create a diversified portfolio for their clients.

Our history and mission
ADISA, formerly known as “REISA” (and before that as “TICA”), is a registered not-for-profit trade association (IRS 501c6) and also has a foundation (IRS 501c3), the ADISA Foundation, which provides college scholarships.

ADISA’s mission is to be the leading trade association for the alternative and direct investment industry providing education, networking, and advocacy for member. Our headquarters office is located in Indianapolis, Indiana, with full time staff in other parts of the country as well. While our events are frequently on the West Coast to reach a majority of our members, we rotate some conferences to other parts of the country where there are concentrations of financial service professionals.
