Why Attend

Event Overview:

The 2018 Ocean Sciences Meeting (OSM), co-sponsored by the American Geophysical Union (AGU), the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO), and The Oceanography Society(TOS), will be held 11-16 February, in Portland, Oregon. The OSM is an important venue for scientific exchange across broad marine science disciplines. Sessions will include all aspects of oceanography, especially multidisciplinary topics, as well as presentations that reflect new and emerging research on the global ocean and society, including science education, outreach and public policy. The OSM originated in 1982 as a joint effort between AGU and ASLO; TOS joined as a regular co-sponsor in 2004.

Exhibitor Information:

Why Exhibit at Ocean Sciences Meeting in 2018?

The Ocean Sciences Meeting (OSM) convenes every two years and provides a venue for international scientists, students, government representatives and industry practitioners to exchange information on topics covering all aspects of oceanography, especially multidisciplinary topics. OSM provides a great opportunity to get in front of attendees who are eager to learn about new and emerging research and technologies affecting the global ocean and society.

About AGU:

AGU is dedicated to the furtherance of the Earth and space sciences, and to communicating our science’s ability to benefit humanity. We achieve these goals through publishing scientific journals and other technical publications, sponsoring scientific meetings, supporting education and outreach programs designed to increase public understanding of and support for our science, and a variety of other activities.

About ASLO:

The purpose of ASLO is to foster a diverse, international scientific community that creates, integrates and communicates knowledge across the full spectrum of aquatic sciences, advances public awareness and education about aquatic resources and research, and promotes scientific stewardship of aquatic resources for the public interest. Its products and activities are directed toward these ends.

About TOS:

The Oceanography Society (TOS) was founded in 1988 to disseminate knowledge of oceanography and its application through research and education, to promote communication among oceanographers, and to provide a constituency for consensus-building across all the disciplines of the field.

The Oceanography Society is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization incorporated in the District of Columbia.

This is a biennial event.
