Overview
The International Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics in Health Care is an educational event for human factors/ergonomics professionals.
Why Attend – 2023
The conference is a leading educational activity and forum for human factors experts, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, biomedical engineers, healthcare providers, FDA representatives, and patient safety researchers to discuss real-world examples and experiences and find solutions for challenges in healthcare.
The symposium will feature cutting-edge lecture and panel presentations, poster presentations, and workshops on emerging issues in health care human factors. The event is an opportunity for attendees to learn insights on the latest science and best practices, understand innovations in the safety of health care providers and patients, sharpen the focus of HF/E initiatives, and improve regulatory approaches.
Symposium Tracks include:
• The Digital Health track focuses on a range of health software and digital technology used by clinicians, patients, caregivers, and the general public.
• The education and simulation track focuses on the intersection between HF/E and modern simulation capabilities within the healthcare context.
• The Hospital Environments Track focuses on the social-technical challenges, the human machine partnerships, and the unique complexity that is healthcare delivery today.
• The Medical and Drug-Delivery Device Track focuses on the application of HF and UX principles and methods to design, evaluate, and validate medical devices (hardware and software) and combination drug products.
• The Patient Safety Research and Initiatives Track focuses on the multidisciplinary collaboration between researchers, patients and healthcare providers to improve the quality and safety of health care.
In addition, there are dedicated networking events that will provide attendees the opportunity to connect with their peers facing similar challenges, exchange best practices, and share ideas they can implement at their own institution.
Why Exhibit – 2023
By exhibiting at the conference, exhibitors can engage with HFES members and other attendees. Additionally, exhibitors will get an opportunity to showcase their products and services to a target audience.
Organizer
The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, founded in 1957, is the world’s largest scientific association for human factors/ergonomics professionals.
HFES provides education, builds connections, and advocates on behalf of human factors/ergonomics field—from students to researchers, and industry practitioners—and fosters collaboration across the spectrum of professionals to drive forward advances in human factors and ergonomics because HFES believes that the seamless connection between humans and systems, and the connection between research and application, is vital to keeping all human beings safe.
The mission of HFES is to advance the science and practice of designing for people in systems through knowledge exchange, collaboration, and advocacy.
